Martial Arts Benefits for Children We firmly believe that martial arts is one of the best activities with which children can be involved. The benefits to children include increased confidence, humility, self discipline, and physical exercise. Many of our parents have commented on improved behavior at school and at home after being involved in our program. We focus a significant amount of attention on building character in our students. Children have clear expectations regarding their behavior during class and one of our goals is to support the lessons parents are teaching. We regularly have conversations with parents about issues at school and at home and can assist by addressing them with the students. This allows the students to hear about the needed changes from adults and teachers other than their parents. All children are required to learn a word at each belt rank to help in their maturity and development.
